It is impossible to manage effectively without hiring effectively. From my very first management position and my first two sales hires, I quickly learned that unless you get the people process right, nothing else matters. That philosophy did not change when I bought my first company; it became a way of life.
“Linking Human Capital with Strategic Intent” is the foundation of who we are and what we do. Unless you get the right people to execute the right strategy nothing happens.
In working with companies and their personnel, I saw a need for objective analysis of candidates’ characteristics to aid companies in their personnel decisions.
In 1991, I founded The Executive Group to help companies in their efforts to become more strategic in developing their business and to be more strategic about the people they hire. To test my theory I contacted the Psychology Department of Valparaiso University and together, along with 33 local companies we launched a joint study to evaluate whether or not job success could be predicted through the use of assessments. We evaluated the behavioral traits and skills for managers and sales people. The result is an assessment process that helps clients reduce the subjective element related to hiring and promotion, and predicting performance and job success.
Today our services are broader in scope and magnitude and include four distinct areas:
- interviewing and selecting exceptional talent
- identifying and developing high performance leaders
- creating and integrating cohesive business plans
- integrating the organizational initiatives to support the business initiatives
In addition, we have created a series of web based training opportunities called Learning on the Fly© to further assist our customers with their personnel and leadership development needs.
